Home

On the 23rd of January we started our travels home. We flew from Quebec to Sydney via Chicago and L.A. and it was about 30 hours of travel time. Definitely not fun. Nan and Pop met us at the airport and they had an Aussie flag with balloons attached for me and Luke. It was so cute! We were coming from -24 degrees to +24 degrees so it felt so extremely hot for me! When I arrived home my friend Emily B had put up welcome home decorations along the path and she surprised me by actually being there!! It was so good to see her! Then I saw that my best friend Emily had made a sign for me on my front door because she couldn't be there. It was so sweet.

Being home that first day was really strange. Everything felt so familiar but there was little differences. For the most part everything was the same, but it's weird how everything and everyone could stay the same in 5 and a half months while I have changed so much. It was really overwhelming!

I've been home for just over 3 weeks now. It's been so good being around my family, seeing all of my extended family and friends again, living in my house with my double bed and my full wardrobe, having home cooked food, and being in hot weather. But on the other hand, I really do miss Canada, UBC and everyone there.

This will be my last blog post for awhile now that I'm back home, until my next trip to Spain and Vancouver in July.

After the most amazing 5 and a half months of my life, I think it's safe to say that I've conquered Canada :)

Love,
Emily
